Set up a UAR RFID reader
Connect a UAR series reader to this demo's MQTT broker. You do not need a dashboard account to read these instructions.
1. Configure the reader
- Connect the reader to the internet and note its serial number (SN).
- On the reader, open 系统设置 → 输出方式 (System Settings → Output Method) and select MQTT.
- Open 配置主机 (Host Configuration) and enter the connection settings below.
- In 选择天线 (Select Antenna), enable the port with the connected RFID antenna.
- Save the settings and reconnect the reader.
| MQTT address | tcp://mqtt-demo.webhost168.com:1883 |
|---|---|
| Backup address | tcp://207.148.77.209:1883 if DNS is unavailable |
| Username | mqttdemo |
| Password | Get the demo MQTT password from your administrator. |
| Transport | Plain MQTT/TCP for this temporary demo; turn SSL/TLS off. |
Leave the reader's default MQTT topics unchanged. Its uplink reports should appear on realopen/device_push/[SN], using its own serial number.
2. Check a scan
With a dashboard account, sign in, register the same SN, and select Start scan. Place an RFID tag near the enabled antenna. A successful read appears as an EPC in the scan session. Select Stop scan when finished.
The reader's buzzer may remain off. Its beepSwitch setting controls sound; the scan setting is autoWork. A reported scan setting of On confirms the reader changed that setting, but tag results appear only when it sends a tag report.
To watch the reader's raw reports from another computer with Mosquitto clients installed, replace YOUR_SN and PASSWORD below:
mosquitto_sub -h mqtt-demo.webhost168.com -p 1883 \
-u mqttdemo -P 'PASSWORD' \
-t 'realopen/device_push/YOUR_SN' -v
When a tag is read, look for its epc inside data.tagList. If the scan setting changes but no EPC arrives, check that a tag is in range and the connected antenna port is enabled.
